David Abrams’ stories and essays have appeared in Esquire, Greensboro Review, The North Dakota Review, Fish Stories and other literary quarterlies.  One of his stories, “Providence,” was included as “100 Other Distinguished Stories of 1998” in the 1999 Best American Stories, edited by Amy Tan.  Since September 1999, he has written film and book reviews for the website www.epinions.com under the pseudonym “Grouch.”  Mr. Abrams lives with his wife and three children in Anchorage, Alaska.

John Barbato, poet and painter, lives in Southern Mexico near Oaxaca City, where he conducts creative writing workshops. Mr. Barbato has appeared at many venues including the 1997 National Poetry Slam, Lord Buckley Festivals, Sacramento Blues Festivals, Wordslingers, High Sierra Music Festival, and the Sacramento Poetry Marathon. His work has been published in Tule Review, Northern Contours, Wild Duck Review, and ZYZZYVA. His books of poetry include Exuberance Despair Vision; Music Once Made Like Love; and Face Up On Dash.  Many of John’s poems and paintings have been inspired by his extensive travels in the Oaxaca Valley. Toni La Ree Bennett, writer and photographer, attended the University of Washington (Seattle) where she received her Ph.D. in English.  Her work has appeared in Puerto del Sol, Hawaii Pacific Review, Journal of Poetry Therapy, and Viet Nam Generation, among other publications, and she has several poems included in the anthology The Muse Strikes Back published by Story Line Press.  She is publisher of Uccelli Press and editor of the new online quarterly, Branches, which is a publication that pairs verbal and visual art.

Beau Boudreaux is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin.

Suzanne Burns’ first full-length collection, Blight, debuted from Archer Books of Santa Monica, California,  in 2001.

Anne Agnes Colwell’s work has appeared in many literary journals, including: Southern Poetry Review, California Review, Eclectic Literary Forum, Midwest Quarterly and Evansville Review

Ruth Lepson is poet-in-residence at the New England Conservatory of Music and Adjunct Faculty at the Art Institute of Boston.  Author of Dreaming in Color, from Alice James Books, she recently edited an anthology of poems from the feminist magazine Sojourner that will be published by the U. of Illinois Press. Her poems have been published online at POTEPOETZINE and in many periodicals, including Agni and Ploughshares. She also organized poetry readings for Oxfam America.

Kenneth Pobo’s book, ORDERING: A SEASON IN MY GARDEN, came out in July 2001 from Higganum Hills Books.  His online chapbook, OPEN TO ALL, can be accessed at the 2River View site.

Mark Richner’s photographs have been published in Running Times, Trail Runner Magazine, by the NCAA, by the American Highway Project, and in literary magazines: Exit 13 and the NC Review.

Laurel Snyder is a recent graduate of the Iowa Writers Workshop, with online publications at shampoo and canwehaveourballback.  She also maintains a personal website at lonelysongs.com.

Bara Swain’s award-winning plays have been produced in New York City, New Jersey, Tennessee, Missouri and Iowa.  Recent performances include Ideal Grace, first place winner, Dubuque Fine Arts National One-Act Play Contest 2001 (IA); a dramatic reading of selected stories, Your Health Comes First…You Can Always Hang Yourself Later (Kaufmann Theater, NYC); You Betcha, Lamia Ink’s International One Page Play Festival 2001 (Chez LaRoe, NYC); and Weeping Willow, Drop Your Shorts Play Festival (Miranda Theater, NYC).  Bara’s prose will appear in the anthology, Love Is Ageless: Stories About Alzheimer’s Disease and Long Shot Magazine.  She is the Dorsal Editor at Doorknobs & BodyPaint:  www.iceflow.com
