THE NEED FOR ANOTHER LANGUAGE

by John McKernan

Greed and Justice
Playing tag in the park

Sex
Imitating a volcano screams
Watch out for the tar pit

When I go to church
I always try to sit
By those who wear clothes from Goodwill
And make the Sign of the Cross backwards

It’s like learning
A new alphabet
Last week a young man
Gnawing on a lottery ticket said to me
Why don't you try the oil slick right beside your coffin?
