spit through clenched teeth.

Art of the body as it ages
not pertinent now.

He gets ready to feel
adrift. A full-body
turn into the dark land.
The faith of the leap.

The way he zips his jacket.
The way his trousers and shoes
cast shadow-bodies on the wall.
